Jiming Liu is a Professor and the Director of the School of Computer Science at University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His research interests include autonomy-oriented computing (AOC) paradigm, Web intelligence and the Wisdom Web, multi-agent systems, self-organizing complex systems, and autonomous networks. He has published over 200 research articles in refereed international journals and conferences, and a number of books including authored research monographs, e.g., Autonomy Oriented Computing: From Problem Solving to Complex Systems Modeling (Kluwer Academic/Springer), Spatial Reasoning and Planning: Geometry, Mechanism, and Motion (Springer), Multi-Agent Robotic Systems (CRC Press), and Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems: Explorations in Learning, Self-Organization and Adaptive Computation (World Scientific). He has served as the editor-in-chief of Web Intelligence and Agent Systems (IOS Press), Annual Review of Intelligent Informatics (World Scientific), and The IEEE Intelligent Informatics Bulletin (IEEE Computer Society TCII) (2002-2006).
He is an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Data and Knowledge Engineering (IEEE Computer Society) as well as several other journals.

He has written and published over 500 scientific papers, which were published in prestigious Polish and foreign scientific journals as well as numerous conference presentations - both national and international. Prof. Tadeusiewicz also wrote over 70 scientific monographs and books, among them are highly popular textbooks (which had many reprints). He was supervisor of 44 doctoral thesis and reviewer of more than 200 doctoral thesis. In 2003 all Polish scientists elected him to be the Member of Central Committee for Scientific Degrees and Scientific Titles (organ by Prime Minister of Polish Government).
In 1996, in universal and secret elections he was elected the Vice-Rector for Science of the University of Mining and Metallurgy, and in January 1998 its Rector. He was re-elected 1999 for the term 1999 - 2002 and again 2002 for the term 2002-2005. In February 1998 Prof. Tadeusiewicz was elected the Corresponding Member of Polish Academy of Sciences and Arts (PAU), in February 2000 he become Foreigner Member of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and in May 2002 he was elected for the grade Corresponding Member of Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).

Ning Zhong received the Ph.D. degree in the Interdisciplinary Course on Advanced Science and Technology from the University of Tokyo. He is currently head of Knowledge Information Systems Laboratory, and a professor in Department of Life Science and Informatics at Maebashi Institute of Technology, Japan. He is also director and an adjunct professor in the International WIC Institute (WICI), Beijing University of Technology. He has conducted research in the areas of knowledge discovery and data mining, rough sets and granular-soft computing, Web intelligence, intelligent agents, brain informatics, and knowledge information systems, with over 200 journal andconference publications and 20 books. He is the editor-in-chief of the Web Intelligence and Agent Systems journal (IOS Press), and Annual Review of Intelligent Informatics (World Scientific), associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, and the Knowledge and Information Systems journal (Springer), a member of the editorial board of Transactions on Rough Sets (Springer), and the editorial board of Advanced Information and Knowledge Processing (AI&KP) book series (Springer), Frontiers in AI and Applications book series (IOS Press), Chapman&Hall/CRC Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery book series, and editor (the area of intelligent systems) of the Encyclopedia of Computer Science and Engineering (Wiley). He is the co-chair of Web Intelligence Consortium (WIC), chair of the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Intelligent Informatics (TCII), member of the steering committee of IEEE International Conferences on Data Mining (ICDM), vice chair of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Technical Committee on Granular Computing, the steering committee of International Rough Set Society. He has served or is currently serving on the program committees of over 100 international conferences and workshops, including IEEE ICDM'02 (conference chair), IEEE ICDM'06 (program chair), IEEE/WIC WI-IAT'03 (conference chair), IEEE/WIC/ACM WI-IAT'04 (program chair), and IJCAI'03 (advisory committee member). He is a senior member of IEEE,and a member of IPSJ, JSAI, IEEE-CS, IEEE-SMC, ACM, AAAI, and IRSS.
